About the course
In Cinematic Literature, we will not only watch movies but discuss the books as well, all while determining the differences between the two. Because of Winn Dixie and Sign of the Beaver are two well known Newberry Award winning books that are typically chosen for different curricula. In class we will read, discuss literary terms, review vocabulary and answer comprehension questions. There will be a few fun projects assigned also. The books are covered in the class fee.
Disclaimer: On page 105-106 there's a conversation about war and the character is comparing war to h*ll. "Why, that war is h*ll," Miss Franny said with her eyes still closed. "Pure h*ll." H*ll is a cuss word, said Amanda. I stole a look at her. Her face was pinched up even more than usual. "War," said Miss Franny with her eyes still closed, "should be a cuss word, too."
