About the course

In Cinematic Literature, we will not only be watching movies but discussing the books as well. The One and Only Ivan and Charlotte’s Web are both Newberry Award winning books that both have something to offer. In class we will be reading, discussing literary terms, have comprehension questions, and do a few fun interactive projects. Besides reading, there may be a few assignments they may have to do outside of co-op. My goal is to get both movies done in class but we may just have time to watch Charlotte’s Web. Its really determined on the students ability to finish the books.
Book fees are included in the price.

Disclaimer: The One and Only Ivan starts off with some evolutionary language. In one instance it says, " My family tree spreads wide as well. I am a great ape, and you are a great ape, and so are chimpanzees..." The book is written from Ivan, the gorilla's perspective. I wanted to let the parents know, therefore you can speak with your children about this topic. We will make sure to tell the students that they're made in God's image and aren't from animals.
