About the course
Learn the basics of brainstorming, formulating ideas for stories and poems, and organizing paragraphs, as well as grammar, spelling and punctuation that make a prolific and accurate writer. Group work and individual in-class activities will help students strengthen, broaden, and beautify their writing skills. We will practice short-story writing, simple poetry, and expansion of thought and vocabulary, as well as learn literary devices to take writing from vanilla bean to banana split. In-class participation and handwriting (or typing) is expected every week.
