About the course

No need to be a Chess Grand Master to have fun in this class. This engaging, all-levels chess class is designed for students 8 and older, whether they are brand new to the game or already have some experience. Students will learn the fundamentals of chess, including how each piece moves, basic rules, and good sportsmanship, while more experienced players will build on strategy, tactics, and game analysis.
Throughout the class, students will:
* Learn opening principles, middle-game tactics, and endgame strategies
* Practice critical thinking, problem-solving, and planning ahead
* Play guided games with peers in a fun, encouraging environment
* Develop confidence, patience, and good decision-making skills
Lessons will include a mix of instruction, puzzles, and live gameplay to keep students engaged at every level. The class will be structured so beginners feel supported while more advanced players are challenged and continue to grow.
No prior chess experience is required—just a willingness to learn and have fun! ♟️
