The books are included in the class fee. Students will need a folder, spiral notebook, and a pen/pencil.

About the course
In the Literature portion of this class, we will be reading two books called Journey to America and Out of My Mind. There will be weekly reading assignments and vocabulary to study. In class, we will read, review vocabulary, and answer comprehension questions. In the Writing portion of our class, we will learn basic writing skills starting with a review of basic grammar. There will be weekly paragraph assignments, and we will be using Writing Skills Book 1, as well as worksheets. We will learn to write a three-paragraph book summary for one of the books we read. The class fee includes the cost of the books.
