Exploring homesteading and heritage skills that would've been necessary for pioneer settlers in the U.S. in the 1800's and 1900's such as food preservation and growing food with hands on activities. Activities in the past have included carding wool and exploring textiles, planting vegetables, milling grain for bread making, preserving fruits and vegetables and handling/learning about animals as well as hunting/gathering skills.
